Physical Therapist at Twin Cities Orthopedics
Thane Widmer graduated from Concordia University, St. Paul’s DPT program in 2021. Now, Widmer practices Physical Therapy at Twin Cities Orthopedics, where he primarily treats patients with orthopedic, sport, and concussion-related injuries. He uses skills developed in the classroom to “seek out information” and to “continue to evolve as research and treatment strategies continue to change.”
Widmer was hoping to stay in the St. Paul area, which placed CSP at the top of his list for pursuing his DPT degree. “I knew this was a place I wanted to be because of the excellent facilities and beautiful campus. The faculty made a really good impression on me during my interview.”
Now, Widmer is still in the Twin Cities area as a practicing Physical Therapist. The alumni network and CSP’s lasting legacy are great resources to take advantage of when it comes to finding job placements after graduation. “CSP is well known in the PT community, and most employers have very positive experiences and things to say about the students and faculty in the program. This is very beneficial when interviewing.”
The expert faculty and well-rounded curriculum helped prepare Widmer for success in his career while also helping him narrow down his career path. “Concordia provided me with the opportunity to work with diverse populations and have a wide breadth of clinical experiences. The education was also very well-rounded, which allowed me to try all different settings and develop my niche.”
