Platt College in Greenwood Village, Colorado, is becoming part of Concordia University, St. Paul (CSP). This transition will occur by the end of 2024.
The Platt College programming will operate through the CSP Global academic division of Concordia University, St. Paul, a longstanding private university – a fixture in higher education for over 130 years.
Current Platt College students will continue their originally planned academic programming with a carefully structured teach-out plan through CSP Global over the next one to three years. New students will enroll in Concordia University, St. Paul’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program, which also serves students through the university’s campuses in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Portland, Oregon. The current Platt College campus will become another campus within Concordia University, St. Paul.

Prospective Students

Concordia University, Saint Paul (CSP) announced Platt College in Greenwood Village will become part of CSP. The transition from Platt College to CSP will occur between now and the end of 2024. Minnesota-based CSP operates a longtime nursing program from the university’s main campus in St. Paul, Minnesota, and nationally via the university’s online and hybrid programming. In addition, Concordia University, St. Paul operates a vibrant and growing on-campus nursing program in Portland, Oregon.

You will be part of the CSP Global Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, a highly regarded and fully accredited program that allows students to complete their degrees in as few as 16 months (based on having at least 54 prerequisite credits before starting the program). The ABSN program is currently offered through Concordia University, St. Paul’s existing campuses in Minnesota and Oregon. The Platt College campus will continue to operate fully, rebranded as CSP Global.

As Concordia University, St. Paul, assumes operations of the current Platt College programming, Platt is no longer enrolling new students into its legacy BSN program as of January 1, 2025. Platt has taken a course of action to stop enrolling students into their prelicensure BSN program as of January 1, 2025. Concordia University, St. Paul, is now actively enrolling new students into its Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program at the former Platt College campus – in addition to its existing BSN programs available through its St. Paul, Minnesota and Portland, Oregon campuses.
The final class to enroll in the Platt College nursing program is the September 16, 2024, start.
Changes are minimal for our current students, including the September 16, 2024 cohort. Platt College students will still complete their original program of study through Concordia University, St. Paul’s CSP Global academic division, via a carefully structured teach-out plan.

After January 1, 2025, all students will graduate with their Bachelor of Science degree from CSP Global, regardless of where they are in the program. All transcripts and diplomas will reflect the change in school name.

Yes. CSP will maintain operations at the Platt College campus in Greenwood Village. The facility will be rebranded to CSP Global and will be another formal campus for Concordia University, St. Paul.

Yes. Students eligible for financial aid will still be able to use financial aid through CSP. Instructions will be provided to all students to help migrate financial aid through the services of Concordia University, St. Paul.

Yes. CSP will honor the transfer credit Platt College accepted for students in the program.

Yes. Platt College and CSP will work with the VA office to transition student benefits. The university is approved for VA benefits and proudly serves active military personnel, veterans, and their dependents.

The ACEN accreditation remains in place until such time as the CCNE accreditation is extended to the Colorado campus location. Platt and CSP nursing leaders are working together to ensure a seamless transition of accreditation coverage for Platt students.

Yes and No. In December, Platt College graduates will continue using the Platt College program code for their NCLEX-RN licensure exam application. After January 2025, the program code will be the same, but it will have a revised name.
Alumni

Concordia University, St. Paul, will take over all of Platt College’s transcripts and records from the entire history of Platt College’s existence. Students may order their transcripts through the CSP website. Instructions will be provided through ongoing communications and the transcript request tools.

Yes. The Higher Learning Commission accredits CSP, and its baccalaureate nursing program is CCNE-accredited. The Greenwood Village campus will become an additional location from the St. Paul, Minnesota campus.
