2011-12 CSP-led International Trips

Below you will find information on CSP-led international opportunities for the 2011-2012 academic year:

Southeast Asia: January 2012

Join our Hmong Center for a tour of Laos and Thailand to learn about the history of Hmong in Southeast Asia.  Students will gain cultural awareness, historical knowledge, and deeper understanding of the Hmong traditions.

Nicaragua service trip: January 2012

Over winter break, students can go to Candelaria, Nicaragua to work with New Song Mission Nicaragua.  Students will have the opportunity to play with kids, teach bible studies, work on construction projects, help with agricultural programs, and discover their own gifts at the same time!

Jamaica service trip: Spring Break 2012

The Jamaica service trip over spring break will be working with several orphanages. The primary orphanage the group will work with is Robins Nest (www.robinsnestchildrenshome.org). There you will be doing work projects for the orphanage (painting, building,etc) and playing with and supervising kids! You will also have the opportunity to go to an orphanage for the developmentally disabled and a government-run orphanage.

Mexico: May 2012

Join our art faculty and explore the beauty of Mexico City!  This course introduces students to Mexican culture through the study of arts and artifacts within the fabric of a social, political, and spiritual context.

Korea Choir Tour: May 2012

Students are invited to join the Christus Choir on a tour of South Korea!  While touring and performing, the group will have the opportunity to visit Seoul, explore national parks, and tour ancient cities.

Israel Dig: July 2012

Concordia at Hippos

Oxford Service trip: July 2012

The Oxford trip is a service and ministry trip dedicated to working with international university students in the Oxford area (with Christian Ministry of Friends International).  While working with Friends International, the Concordia team will be trained in evangelism and ministry.  Students will do evangelism work in a coffee shop as part of their daily schedule.  Students will also have a chance to take weekend trips to Scotland and London!
