The Concordia-led study abroad program was launched in Costa Rica in spring of 2011. It will be offered spring semesters as an ongoing program.
Students will have the opportunity to take two courses from a Concordia faculty member on-site in Costa Rica, as well as two courses from Veritas University, an accredited university located in San Jose. You will appreciate learning with and from Costa Rican students, faculty, and staff, as well as take advantage of an international experience with a uniquely Lutheran perspective.
Students will earn between 12 and 17 credits during their semester in Costa Rica by taking:
*One Concordia University Course
*Credit-bearing Experiential Learning Abroad Programs (ELAP) component
*Veritas University Intensive Spanish Language Course
As well as taking:
*A second Concordia University course and / or
*A Veritas University elective.
Beyond the classroom, there are opportunities to become involved with local homestay families, language exchanges and tutoring, cultural excursions such as ziplining in the rainforest, and experiential learning programs such as working with local Christian outreach organizations!
