Twin Cities’ photographer, Cate Vermeland, has been teaching in the Concordia University Art Department since 1994, where she teaches photography and Community Art. During her time at CSP she has instituted a Photography Biennial for the gallery program and has written and implemented a Minor in Photography as part of the traditional undergraduate program. Vermeland has a passion for making art accessible to all and has created numerous Community Art activities on campus.
Vermeland has been awarded the MCAD/Jerome Foundation Fellowship for emerging artists, has been an award winner at the MN State Fair Annual Juried Fine Art Competition and has work in the Minnesota Museum of American Art, along with numerous private collections. She has been actively exhibiting her photography within the mid-west for the past 20 years.
