Our Mission
Our Mission is to:
- prepare students for professional outreach ministries
- encourage and develop an active outreach consciousness within the campus community
- raise outreach vision, commitment, involvement, and leadership throughout the church
OHSCO prepares students for professional outreach ministries.
- OHSCO's primary focus is the preparation of Directors of Christian Outreach(DCO) for congregational, cross-cultural, and Bible translation ministries.
- OHSCO actively recruits students for outreach ministries in cooperation with the Office of Admission.
- OHSCO promotes professional outreach ministries among congregations and agencies of the church, thus cultivating positions for these workers.
- OHSCO provides academic education and internships for students preparing for outreach ministries through the Concordia University curriculum.
- OHSCO provides outreach education for students pursuing other careers.
- OHSCO forms outreach students spiritually and professionally through the OHSCO Fellowship- a community of outreach-oriented professors, stduents, and staff which provides mentoring, motivation, and other growth experiences.
OHSCO encourages and develops an active outreach consciousness within the campus community.
- OHSCO provides leadership for the Concordia Mission Society.
- OHSCO develops and provides leadership for the OHSCO Fellowship, a community of outreach-oriented professors, students, and staff.
- OHSCO leads outreach-oriented Bible studies and activities which support and motivate the campus community toward participation in outreach.
OHSCO raises outreach vision, commitment, involvement, and leadership throughout the church.
- OHSCO develops and offers outreach education to congregations and groups throug distance learning.
- OHSCO develops and offers outreach workshops and seminars.
- OHSCO participates in outreach events at the congregational, circuit, district, adn cynodical level, i.e., LWML gatherings, Great Commission Convocations, Mission Sundays, Professional Church Workers Conferences, etc.
Funding for the academic portion of OHSCO's work is provided by the college. Funding for the balance of OHSCO's work is provided by OHSCO's endowment and its fund-raising efforts done in cooperation with the Office of Development.
