Concordia Student Survives Rare Pneumonia

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University, St. Paul sophomore Miata Smith developed a rare form of pneumonia in the fall of 2013 and was given a 5% chance of survival. When she woke from a drug-induced coma three months later, Miata had survived thanks to technology and a new set of lungs. She plans to return to Concordia when she is fully recovered.
