Minnesota History Center Hosts 2014 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration

Event previously held at Concordia and Central High School

The 2014 state-sponsored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration will be held at the Minnesota History Center (345 W. Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul) Monday, Jan. 20, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Previously this event was held at Concordia University and Central High School.

This free event includes:

  • Opening remarks by Governor Mark Dayton
  • Keynote address by Congressman Keith Ellison
  • WCCO's Angela Davis will emcee the program
  • Honoring Dr. Josie Johnson
  • Musical performances by local talents

Schedule of events:

  • 8:30 a.m. The Council on Black Minnesotans’ Discussion on the 88th Legislative Session
  • 10:15 a.m. Ceremonial March
  • 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Celebration Program
  • 12:30 p.m. Complimentary Community Lunch
