The Concordia University Golden Bears volleyball team was picked to finish first by the league coaches for the 10th consecutive season in the NSIC Preseason Volleyball Poll. Concordia received all 15 first place votes (coaches can't vote for their own team).
The six-time defending NCAA Division II National Champions received 225 points, while second place Minnesota Duluth received 209. Southwest Minnesota State, Wayne State and Augustana rounded out the top five.
While Concordia is the preseason favorite for the 10th-straight year, the program has also captured the conference crown for the previous 10 seasons.
Concordia opens the season with a home tournament on Friday, September 6 with a 1 p.m. match against Colorado School of Mines before a 7:30 p.m. match against Hillsdale College. They play twice on Saturday, September 7 at 11 a.m. against Wayne State and 7:30 p.m. against Indianapolis before a 1 p.m. Sunday match against Wingate.
