Student Work on Display at Juried Art Exhibition, April 19-May 4

The Department of Art at Concordia University, St. Paul is hosting the 2012 Student Juried Art Exhibition April 19 through May 4 at the Concordia Gallery.  The annual event showcases work by students at Concordia.

Open to all Concordia students, including non-art majors, this year’s exhibition is juried by Rachel Breen, a local artist and professor at Anoka-Ramsey Community College.

Featured artwork will include paintings, photography, drawing, printmaking, sculptures, ceramics, digital art and graphic design. Nearly 50 pieces will be on display. 
The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is open to the public. The Concordia Gallery is located in Concordia Art Center at 1301 Marshall Avenue.

2012 Annual Student Juried Art Exhibition Award Winners:

First Prize: Sara Downing, Papavera Somniferum, silkscreen print
Second prize:  Samantha Huntley, Verdant, ceramic sculpture
Third prize:  Catherine Ries, Winter, ink-jet print

Christa Bobick, Perspective, mixed media sculpture
Grace Lindblad, Small teapot, stoneware
Amanda Goneau, Burton, mixed media sculpture
Kelly Hagenson, Aloof Loofa, ink-jet print
