Concordia University, St. Paul is serving community members in need by supplying emergency housing in an on-campus residence hall. The university was contacted by the American Red Cross just before midnight on Thursday, Nov. 17 with a request to provide up to 30 beds for displaced community members.
A shooting in a Roseville apartment complex late Thursday evening resulted in an evacuation of the building, which is when the Red Cross and Concordia stepped in to care for the families. Concordia prepared rooms in an empty residence hall and gave displaced community members a warm place to stay until they are able to return to their homes.
Concordia has been an emergency contact for the Red Cross for 15 years.
