Engaging with Chinese People and Organizations Presentation

Visiting Chinese professors Dr. Zhang Xiuping and Dr. Zhang Xiao will share insights about their research and strategies to effectively engage with Chinese people and organizations at Concordia University's Center for Hmong Studies (1245 Carroll Avenue, St. Paul, Minn. 55104) July 9, 2014 at 5 p.m. This event is free and open to all.

Dr. Xiuping Zhang, Vice Dean of the School of Management at Minzu University, Beijing China and author of the  book (released this month in China), “Invest China” will discuss economic  challenges and business opportunities in China. In her recent book she presents data on opportunities in the various Chinese provinces, top Chinese and foreign companies and other elements of the investment landscape in China. Minzu University is one of the top national universities in China for minority groups in China.

Dr. Zhang Xiao, Executive Director for the Ethnology and Anthropology Center, Guizhou University, China will share research on the Hmong migration from China to Minnesota. Currently she is researching the experience of Hmong Americans in Minnesota. The Miao people in China share common roots with the Hmong in Minnesota.

Concordia University students and faculty have visited both universities recently.
