2013 National Autism Awareness Tour with Aaron Likens

Concordia University, St. Paul hosts nationally known author and speaker Aaron Likens as part of his 2013 National Autism Awareness Tour, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Buetow Music Center Auditorium. Event is free and open to the public. (Book signing and reception, 6-7 p.m.)

Aaron Likens, an accomplished public speaker, published author, avid blogger and remarkable individual was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome – a highfunctioning form of autism – at age 20.

Now 30 and a recipient of the prestigious Mental Health Champion award given by the Missouri Department of Mental Health, Aaron has found an opportunity to share with the world how the Autism Spectrum Disorder mind works through his position as Life Skills’ Autism Ambassador.

Having been diagnosed later in life, Aaron is committed to “the race for autism awareness and understanding,” advocating for early intervention services, and to helping our community better understand autism – how it feels, how individuals face unique issues and challenges, and how to interact with someone on the autism spectrum.

Over the past three years, Aaron has led presentations and training sessions for more than 20,000 people throughout Missouri and across the nation!
