Application Process
The deadline to apply for the Summer 2010 Residency, which begins June 12, 2010, is April 2, 2010. Please read the following guidelines carefully.
Note: The June 2010 Residency is only a 2 week residency held at Concordia University-St. Paul, Minnesota.
What to expect?
Applicants are considered once a complete Entrance Portfolio is received. Applicants will receive a letter from the Entrance Review Committee indicating whether or not entrance into the program has been granted. Pre-course assignments and syllabi can be downloaded or printed from this website through the "Course Descriptions" page.
Entrance Portfolio
To apply, students must submit the following in a folder(if you are unable to view the forms, download Adobe Reader):
- Application Form (PDF)
- Master of Arts in Christian Outreach Entrance Portfolio for the Entrance Committee to review including:
- Final and official transcripts indicating a CGPA of 3.0 or demonstration of the ability to perform at a masters level and documentation of a bachelor's degree; Request for Official Transcript (PDF)
- Two letters of recommendation(PDF) from people who can verify the applicant's outreach ministry experience or knowledge;
- One letter of recommendation(PDF) from the applicants pastor;
- Outreach work experiences/resume;
- Written expression(PDF) of the applicant's rationale for pursing the degree;
- Documentation of undergraduate courses in Old and New Testament and Christian Doctrine complete or demonstration of competency in course areas. (The course requirements of Old Testament, New Testament and Christian Doctrine may be completed up until 1 June 2010.)
- $50.00 non-refundable application fee (payable to Concordia University) or pay online;
- Signed copy of the Technology Agreement;
Once a student has been accepted, a $250.00 deposit sent to the Office of Admission is required to insure a spot in the cohort. This deposit will be applied directly toward the student's first tuition payment. The space is limited and will be filled in the order applications are received.
International Applicants Entrance Portfolio
Co-requisites
Undergraduate courses in Old Testament, New Testament, and Christian Doctrine are to be completed prior to the beginning of the student?s coursework in MACO. If the student is not working toward DCO certification, the courses may be completed at any Christian institution. In order to be certified as a DCO, these courses must be completed at an LCMS institution. Some places that offer these courses by correspondence are Concordia University Chicago, and the LCMS Northwest District. The LCMS's CUENet program is a tool for completing these courses on-line. Program Dates
The June 2010 residency will take place from 12 June through and including 25 June 2010. Cohorts will begin the program during the year, based on interest. In order to join the next cohort, applications must be submitted by April 2, 2010. There is a required Orientation to the program that is held on 12 June 2010 and classes begin on the 14June 2010. Students are given Sunday off during their stay on campus.
