Charles Martin is in his second year as an assistant coach with the Golden Bears, and will work primarily with the sprinters. He is a 2004 graduate of Concordia University. Martin began his collegiate career at the University of Dubuque where he lettered for two years in both track & field and football. After transferring to Concordia University, he lettered once in football and twice in track & field while earning seven all-conference honors. Martin has held outdoor school records in the 100m and 200m dashes, and the 4x100m and 4x200m relays. In 2004, he became the first Concordia track & field athlete to qualify for the Drake Relays in an individual event, the 100 meter dash.
Martin, who holds a B.A. in psychology, works at Concordia as the assistant director of alumni relations. Before joining the Golden Bear track & field coaching staff, Martin coached two seasons at Concordia University-Chicago where he served as assistant track & field coach and undergraduate admissions counselor. Martin is completing his Master of Arts degree in organization management at Concordia University. He is a USATF Level I certified coach.
