Coach Narten is in her fourth season with the Bears. Prior to beginning her coaching career at Concordia, Narten was a four-year standout soccer player at Northern Sun rival Winona State, where she earned first team all-conference honors in each of her four years, including being named NSIC Player of the Year in 2001. She also earned all-region honors and was named NSCAA All-American in 2001. She is fourth all-time in the NSIC in career goals with 20 and fifth in assists with 15.
Narten graduated in 2003 from Winona State University with a cell and molecular biology degree. She lives in Minneapolis and works as an assistant scientist in a cancer research laboratory at the University of Minnesota Cancer Center.
