International Students

To apply for admission to Concordia University-St. Paul, please follow the steps below.

First-Year Students

One who has not attended an institution of higher education for at least one year must submit the following:

  1. Application for Undergraduate Admission with non-refundable $30 application fee
  2. Certification of Finances, indicating the financial sources for the expense of attending Concordia University
  3. If English is NOT your native language, submit scores on ONE of the following tests:
    - Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Minimum Scores: 500 on paper or 173 on Computer
    - An equated score of 70 or better on the Michigan Test
    - Completion of Level 112 at an English Language School (ELS)
    - International English Language Testing System overall band score of 6 or higher
  4. Official high school transcript written in English and evaluated by an outside agency
  5. Two letters of recommendation
Transfer Students

One who has attended an institution of higher learning for one year or more must submit the following:

  1. Application for Undergraduate Admission with non-refundable $30 application fee
  2. Certification of Finances, indicating the financial sources for the expense of attending Concordia University
  3. If English is NOT your native language, submit scores on ONE of the following tests:
    - Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Minimum Scores: 523 on paper or 193 on Computer.
    - An equated score of 70 or better on the Michigan Test
    - Completion of Level 112 at an English Language School (ESL)
    - International English Language Testing System overall band score of 6 or higher
  4. Official transcripts from each previous college/university or educational institution attended since graduating from high school. These transcripts must be in English and evaluated by an outside agency.
  5. Two letters of recommendation.
  6. If you are currently enrolled in an American college or university (NOT including ELS Language Center) a transfer release form must be submitted.
Vaccinations/Health Insurance
  • Minnesota Law requires all students to be up to date with vaccinations before enrolling in classes. To see a list of required vaccinations, please call the Health Services Director at 651-641-8235.

  • International Students must provide proof of his/her health insurance that is valid in the United States before enrolling in classes.
