Sociology Major

Sociology Major

Majoring in Sociology involves the study of the roles people play in society, both as individuals and in groups. How does group interaction change over time? How do ideas of what’s normal and what’s not come into being? How do social class and ethnicity shape people’s lives? You’ll learn to become a critical thinker about the social world as you take 44 credit hours towards a Bachelor of Arts degree.

You’ll also keep it real beyond the classroom with travel andinternship opportunities in one of the most culturally diverse metropolitan areas in the nation. And because we design our sociology program to be responsive to the exact needs of the marketplace, it will be a relevant major if you’re considering a career in social services, business, youth development, research, law, criminal justice, gerontology, community development and other related fields.
