Gerontology Minor

About Gerontology Minor more

Students interested in working with an aging population will benefit from the Gerontology Self-Designed Minor. It is estimated that by 2030 there will be 71 million individuals who are 65 years of age and older living in the United States (www.cdc.gov).  This significant shift in the age of our population will result in more job-related opportunities working with this segment of the population.  The 24 credit interdisciplinary gerontology minor is designed to mirror these opportunities by complementing a student’s major area of study.  The minor also provides a strong psychological, biological, social, and physical foundation for student understanding of the aging population.
