Traditional Undergraduate Programs Commencement Ceremony

Baccalaureate Service

Date: Thursday, May 9, 2013
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Graebner Memorial Chapel

The Baccalaureate service is a celebration of and thanksgiving for lives dedicated to learning and wisdom. The Baptismal calling and vocation of the entire community will be recognized in the prayers. The liturgy of Holden Evening Prayer with special music, prayers and blessings for the graduates and their families will guide the Concordia Community in praise and thanks to God for these gifts.

All students, faculty, staff and their family and friends are welcomed and encourage to attend this special service. Graduating students are encouraged to participate in this service by processing in their academic attire. Please RSVP your intention to process at commencement@csp.edu by Monday, April 30.  Line up will take place at 7 p.m. on the second floor of Meyer Hall.

General reservations are not required and admission is free. A reception will immediately follow.

*Be advised of the following road closures in Minneapolis beginning Friday, May 10 at 10 p.m. until Monday, May 13 at 5 a.m.

  • Northbound I-35W will close between the downtown exits and Highway 280
  • Southbound I-35W will close between the Highway 55 and the I-94/35W split
  • Eastbound I-94 will close between the I-35W/94 split and Highway 55
  • Westbound I-94 will close between Highway 280 and the downtown exits

Motorists should watch for temporary detour and traffic control signs.

Detours

  • I-35W traffic will be detoured to westbound I-94, westbound and eastbound I-694 and Highway 280
  • Park Avenue traffic will be detoured to Chicago Avenue and back via Franklin Avenue and 17th Street
  • Portland Avenue will be modified into a two way street between Franklin Avenue and 18th
