MACO Nigeria

OHSCO began a cohort of students in Nigeria in January of 2008 who are hoping to complete the Master of Arts in Christian Outreach (MACO) program. University
leaders are still working to assure that the MACO program offered in Nigeria has the full accreditation of Concordia’s accrediting agencies.  There are 12 students actively pursuing completion of this program. They have worked through many challenges and trials in their attempts to move toward completion. Dr. David Erber has worked overtime to see that students have the support they need to make their way through the class assignments, as well as the practicum’s which are required. One student has begun several home study groups in the area where he is working, and recently he reported 13 baptisms and 18 confirmations during the months between April and November of 2008.

Rev. Dr. Mark Press

As the program moves ahead, consideration is being given to additional cohorts in Nigeria, as well as the possibility of cohorts in other areas where the LCMS has significant mission presence. Please pray for the necessary cooperation of all the partners involved in this crucial effort.
