Concordia University, St. Paul understands that many students complete their degree by attending multiple institutions of higher learning. We strive to honor your previously earned credits and transfer in as many as possible.
While our credit acceptance policy is generous, final determinations about credit awards are subject to the approval of our Registrar's office.
Accepted as credit at Concordia University, St. Paul
Previous Earned University, College and Technical CreditConcordia accepts most college level credit from accredited institutions of higher learning. Courses taken at previously unaccredited institutions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. The staff in the Office of Admission at Concordia University, St. Paul strives to update transfer guides regularly. However, when planning your schedule according to these guides, please contact Jacob LaCroix, the transfer student evaluator, at lacroix@csp.edu or (651) 641-8762 and speak to your community college's counseling office to ensure the most accurate planning of your education. Aside from this guide(s), the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum and Liberal Arts Associate of Arts degrees are fully accepted general education requirements.
Concordia University will accept credits earned through either CLEP or Dantes (View a listing of our accepted CLEP exam credits). Once enrolled in one of our programs, students are eligible to write life experience essays for elective credit.
You may be eligible for credit based on prior learning through your work experience, professional training, licensures or certifications. If applicable, your training will be translated to credit based on 60 training hours equaling one nontraditional elective credit.
Concordia University values military training, experiences and credit. Concordia follows the American Council on Education (ACE) Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services (http://militaryguides.acenet.edu/) for credit awarding recommendations. College level credit earned at military operated community colleges is fully accepted.

Roadmaps are detailed credit and credentials evaluations available to prospective students with no charge or obligations.A Roadmap will help determine the total number credits that you will be able to transfer to Concordia, as well as whether you have the minimum number of credits (36 credits) necessary to begin one of our BA programs.
To obtain your Roadmap:
- Submit a Roadmap Request Form (PDF)
- Submit all unofficial or official transcripts (please provide copy of front and back of transcript)
